Laila studied Accounting at University of Portsmouth, graduating in 2002 with First Class Honours. Following University Laila worked at Goldman Sachs and Morley Fund Management before joining HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to train to be a Chartered Accountant.
Laila qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant for England and Wales in 2008 and continued her career at HMRC specialising in management accounting. Laila went on to work at HM Treasury continuing to work within management accounting but also expanding into finance business partnering and developing government policy.
Laila has decided to expand her knowledge base into tax, joining British Taxpayers in September 2018 as an Assistant Tax Consultant. Laila is quickly gaining an understanding in personal taxation, working with Individuals, Partnerships and Trusts.
Laila hopes to enhance her understanding in taxation by studying for membership to Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Outside of work Laila enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 sons, especially at theme parks.
