Public sector experience as District Inspector of Taxes, Senior Tax Investigator and Tax Lecturer is complemented by senior professional positions in the tax and expatriate departments of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Deloittes and Chiltern (now BDO Chiltern).
The team is headed by Geoff Adams who describes himself as a “gamekeeper turned poacher”. His expertise at handling client’ tax affairs started with specialist inside knowledge and experience gained whilst working in the Revenue, and was then supplemented and used for the benefit of clients whilst forging a successful career in the tax profession.
He has lectured on expatriate taxation for the International Fiscal Association, the Anglo-American Chamber of Commerce, and the American Tax Institute in Europe.
With the Revenue, his career included service as a Senior District Inspector, work within a specialist team dealing with UK and overseas film stars and entertainers, and Senior Investigator within what is now the Civil Investigation of Fraud office.
After moving to the tax profession, he became Director of Personal Tax at what is now BDO Chiltern, setting up a specialist team to handle international executive transfers. He later joined British Taxpayers as Managing Director.
If the barometer of success for a business is the number of referrals, then British Taxpayers must score very highly. Some clients have been with us for over 50 years – and for some families we are now dealing with the fourth generation.
